Tutors, coaches, trainers, therapists: starting out

Turn what you know into paid one-on-one sessions.

You do not need a company, a website or an invoicing system to be paid for your time. You need something you can teach, a way to take the money, and one first client. Here is the rest of it, and what it costs to try.

Who this is

If people already ask you for help, you have the raw material.

A subject, a sport, a skill, a language, their health, their business: if you are the person friends send other people to, you are already doing this work for free. The maths student who tutors two evenings a week. The gym regular who trains three friends on a Saturday. The retired teacher whose old students still write. The fluent speaker whose neighbours want lessons.

Charging for it is a smaller step than it looks. The first paid session is the same session you would have given anyway, with a time agreed in advance and a payment link attached.

What you actually need

Three things, and two of them are free.

  • Something you can teach

One subject you are genuinely better at than the person paying you. That is the whole bar.

  • A way to take the money

A PayPal, Stripe or GCash link costs nothing to create. Your client pays you on it directly, and Slide never holds your money.

  • One first client

One person and one agreed time. Everything after that is repetition.

What you do not need: a registered company, a website, invoicing software, or a logo. Tax and registration rules are set where you live, so check what your own country asks of you before you start charging.

Day one

What Slide sets up while you look for that client.

  • Your page

One link with your times on it. A client picks a slot and pays at booking, through your own payment link.

  • Consent before recording

Every session asks your client to agree on screen before anything records, and recording stays yours to turn on.

  • The write-up, done

About a minute after the session, the recap and the follow-up are drafted. You read them, edit them, and press send.

What it costs to try

Seven days of Pro, and no card.

The trial is seven days of the Pro plan. Nothing is charged when it ends, and you choose a plan only if you stay. After that, founding pricing is Pro at $19 a month for your first 12 months and then $29.99, for the first 30 people to activate: 30 spots open. Prices exclude VAT or sales tax, which is added at checkout. You keep 100% of what you earn, on every plan. See the plans.

The honest part

What Slide cannot do for you.

Slide sets up the business side in an afternoon. Finding clients, setting your rate, and being good at the work: that part is yours, and nobody can promise you an income. When you get your first booking, Slide makes sure the session, the payment, and the follow-up are already handled.

Questions

The two things people ask first.

Do I need a company to charge for sessions?

In most places a private client can pay you for your time without a registered company, and you never need a website or invoicing software to use Slide. Tax and registration rules are set where you live, so check what your own country asks of you before you start charging.

How do I get paid?

Your client pays you directly, at the moment they book, through your own PayPal, Stripe or GCash link. Slide shows the amount due, records what happened and sends the receipt once you confirm the money arrived. Slide never holds your money and takes no commission, ever.
