  • She rushed the two word problems at the end and dropped the units both times.
  • We stopped at question 18 because her calculator died. 19 and 20 carry over to Tuesday.

  • Practice set 4, questions 1 to 20, by Tuesday.
  • Circle the units in every answer.

A timed half test, then the word problems.

What to write in each part

What went well
One or two things, with a number when there is one. “7 of 8 linear equation questions right without a calculator” tells a parent more than “great progress”, and next month you’ll have something to compare it with.
What I noticed
Name the habit rather than the topic. Rushing the two word problems at the end and dropping the units is something Brooke can fix by Tuesday. “Struggles with word problems” isn’t.
What we agreed
Homework somebody can check, with the set, the question numbers and a day. Keep it to what fits before the next lesson.
Next time
Where the next lesson starts, in a line or two. The parent knows the plan, and so do you when Tuesday comes.
