How do I close my account and delete my data?

From a button in your own settings, with a window afterwards in which you can change your mind. Nobody has to approve it and nobody will call you about it.

Take your data first

Export before you close. It takes a minute, it is on every plan, and once the deletion has run there is nothing to go back for.

How the export works.

What the button does

Settings, then the Danger zone tab, then Delete my account. You type DELETE to confirm, which is there so nobody does this with a stray click.

That schedules the deletion rather than performing it. The screen then shows the exact date and time your account will be permanently deleted, and a Cancel deletion button beside it. You also get an email saying it has been scheduled, because a scheduled erasure is a security event and you should hear about one you did not start.

The window

You have 30 days. Cancel any time before the date and nothing is lost; the account carries on as it was.

Asking twice does not move the date. If you come back to the screen a week later to check, it shows you the deadline you already have rather than quietly giving you a new one.

What goes, and what is kept

After the date, your personal data is permanently removed: your profile, your public page, your bookings, your availability, your write-ups and the exports you generated. Permanently means permanently, and there is no undo after that point.

What is kept is what the law makes us keep. Subscription and booking records survive to the extent tax and accounting requirements demand, and nothing beyond that.

Before you go

Two practical things. Deal with sessions still on the books, because a client holding a confirmed booking on a page that is about to disappear is a bad afternoon for both of you. And tell your clients where to find you next: their portal goes with the account.

A closed account is not the only way to stop. If you are pausing rather than leaving, you can unpublish your booking page and simply stop taking sessions, and everything stays where it is.
