How do I get my data out?

From a button in your own settings, whenever you want, on every plan. Nothing is held back, nothing has to be asked for, and nobody has to approve it.

Where the button is

Settings, then the Danger zone tab, under Your data. There are four downloads there and you can take any of them as often as you like.

  • Clients. A spreadsheet of the people who have booked you, built from your bookings: name, email, first session, last session, and how many sessions in total. A client you have never had a booking with is not in it.
  • Sessions and bookings. Every booking, with its date, the rate, and how it ended.
  • Write-ups. One row per write-up with the client's name, the session date, the status, the next focus, and when it was sent. Not the text of the write-up itself.
  • Everything. One file with your profile, your public page fields, your rates, your availability, your bookings, your messages, your notifications, your email history and your own audit log.

The one thing you cannot export today, said plainly. The body of a write-up, which is the wins, the insights, the commitments and the next focus, is not in any of the four. The Write-ups spreadsheet carries the next focus line and the row around it; the Everything file does not carry write-ups at all. You can read and copy any write-up from your dashboard, and your client keeps their own copy in their portal, so nothing is lost or locked away, but there is no one button that takes the text of all of them at once. It is on the list. Until it is built this page will say so, and if you need the text out today, write to support@slidepractice.com and it will be done by hand.

The first three are ordinary spreadsheet files, so they open in whatever you already use. The download arrives in the browser you asked from, and Slide also emails you to confirm an export happened, which is a security notice as much as a receipt: if you get one you did not ask for, that is worth acting on.

What is in it, and what is not

Your own records and your own clients' records. Nobody else's, and nothing internal: an export is your data, not a copy of the database.

Audio is not in it, and could not be: session recordings are deleted automatically once the write-up has been drafted from them, so by the time you export there is nothing to carry.

Exporting never depends on paying

This is the part worth knowing before you need it. Reading what you have already made and exporting it work in every state of an account, including one where a subscription has ended. Data is never deleted for non-payment and never held back to make you pay. If you decide Slide is not for you, you leave with your clients, your bookings and your records, and you can read and copy every write-up on your way out.

Exporting changes nothing

Taking a copy does not delete anything, does not close anything, and does not tell your clients anything. It is a copy. If you do want to close the account, that is a separate and deliberate step, and taking an export first is the sensible order.
