What files can I upload, and how long does it take?
MP3, M4A or WAV. You choose the client and a few details on the way in, and the write-up is waiting when the drafting finishes.
What goes in
An audio file: MP3, M4A or WAV. Those are the three formats the file picker accepts, and between them they cover what a phone recorder, a laptop and most meeting tools produce. The screen states the size limit and, if a file is over it, tells you to export it as an MP3, which is usually enough on its own.
Uploading after the session works today, on every plan, including Starter.
What the screen asks you for
- Who it was with. Pick an existing client or add a new one there and then, with a name and, if you have it, an email address.
- How long the session ran. It counts toward your hours log, so set it to the real length before you upload.
- Which structure to use. Slide defaults to the one that matches your field, and you can pick another or one you saved yourself.
- What language it was in. Leave it on auto-detect, or name it: English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, German, Italian or Tagalog.
- Consent. A line saying you have consent from everyone in the session to record and process it. The upload button stays off until it is ticked.
What happens next
The file goes straight into private storage, and Slide transcribes it and drafts the write-up. You land on the write-up page immediately and it refreshes itself while the work runs, so you can close the tab and come back: nothing is lost by walking away, and the draft carries the status it is at.
What comes back is not a transcript. It is the write-up in your field's structure, with the session's own words in it, ready for you to read and change.

How fast is it?

What if there is no recording at all?
Then there is no write-up to draft from a session. Slide writes from what was said, so a session nobody captured has nothing to work with.
