Slide Practice against Fathom.

Fathom is a meeting assistant: it records calls, summarises them and pushes actions into a CRM, with a free tier. Slide Practice drafts the document your client receives afterwards, in four named sections, for you to check and send.

Slide Practice wrote this page, and we make one of the two products in it, so read it the way you would read any comparison written by a competitor and check the claims yourself. Everything said here about another product was read off that product's own public pages as of September 2026. No competitor's exact price appears anywhere on this site, because prices change and a stale number is worse than none.

01What each one is for

Two products, two jobs, stated plainly.

Slide Practice

Paid one to one sessions where a client is waiting for a document, rather than internal calls where the notes are for the person who ran them.

How it is priced A flat monthly price per practitioner, with two agency plans above it billed once for the whole team. The cost does not move with how many clients you have or how much audio you put through it.

Its own pricing page

Fathom

A team that runs on calls and wants each one summarised, actioned and pushed into a CRM without anybody typing.

How it is priced A free tier with unlimited recordings, then paid team plans billed per user per month with a two user minimum, so the cost follows the size of the team rather than the number of clients.

Its own pricing page

Fathom is built for a person whose day is calls and whose problem is remembering them. A one to one practitioner has a different problem: the session was memorable, and the thing that does not happen is the write up the client is waiting for. A meeting summary written for the host reads, to a client, like notes about them rather than a report for them.

02Where Slide Practice wins

Three things Slide Practice does better.

  • It writes for the client rather than for the host, which is a different document with a different reader and a different tone.
  • The four sections are the ones the practitioner's own kind of work uses, and the last of them is always something somebody agreed to do.
  • Nothing is sent automatically. A practitioner reads and corrects every report before a client ever sees it, which is the opposite of a meeting assistant's default.

03Where Fathom wins

Three things Fathom does better.

  • The free tier is unusually generous: its own pricing page offers unlimited recordings and instant summaries at no cost, which is more than Slide Practice gives anybody.
  • CRM field sync on the higher plans writes back into the system a sales team already lives in, and Slide Practice integrates with no CRM at all.
  • It captures without a bot in the room on its newer capture mode, which matters to anybody whose clients dislike a visible recorder joining the call.

04Do not choose Slide Practice if

The cases where this product is the wrong answer.

Do not choose Slide Practice if your calls are internal, if you need a CRM updated after each one, or if a free tool that captures everything is enough. Fathom is better at all of that and costs nothing to start.

05The short answer

If you only read one paragraph, read this one.

Sales calls, internal meetings, pipeline: Fathom, and the free tier makes it an easy decision. Paid one to one sessions where somebody is waiting for a document with their name on it: Slide Practice.
