Compare

Every comparison this site makes, and the rules all of them follow.

There are 13 head to head pages here. Each one names at least 2 things the other product does better, each one says plainly when Slide Practice is the wrong answer, and not one of them prints a competitor's price.

A comparison page written by one of the two companies in it is worth reading only if it is willing to lose. These are written to that rule and checked against the other company's own pages rather than against a review site, a comparison blog or a memory of what something used to cost.

01How these are written

Four rules, and the build fails on three of them.

  • No competitor price, ever. Prices change and a stale number is worse than no number. Each page says the shape of the pricing, how the cost moves as a practice grows, the date it was checked and a link to the vendor's own page. The build refuses a page whose check is more than 120 days old.
  • Every claim traceable to their own pages. Not a review site, not a comparison blog, not a memory. Where a vendor's pages could not be read at all, the page was not written.
  • Every page names something they do better. A row with fewer than 2 of them does not build.
  • Products only. Nothing about another company, its funding or its staff, and nothing in the present tense about a roadmap.

02Slide Practice against

Eleven products, and what each of them is actually for.

04The longer form

Where the whole table lives, and where the moves are written up.

The alternatives table puts every tool in one grid with a column for the thing each one does that this product does not. The migration guides are the practical half: what moves, what does not, and what a switch actually costs in an afternoon. If you would rather see the thing than read about it, the free sample drafts one report from a session of yours.
