Compare
Slide Practice against TutorBird.
TutorBird runs the tutoring back office: calendar, attendance, invoices, payments and a parent portal. Slide Practice drafts the lesson report from the recording. Most tutors who compare them are looking at two halves rather than two options.
Slide Practice wrote this page, and we make one of the two products in it, so read it the way you would read any comparison written by a competitor and check the claims yourself. Everything said here about another product was read off that product's own public pages as of September 2026. No competitor's exact price appears anywhere on this site, because prices change and a stale number is worse than none.
01What each one is for
Two products, two jobs, stated plainly.
Slide Practice
A tutor whose diary and invoicing already work, and whose lesson notes are three lines on a good week and nothing on a bad one.
How it is priced A flat monthly price per practitioner, with two agency plans above it billed once for the whole team. The cost does not move with how many clients you have or how much audio you put through it.
TutorBird
A tutor or small tutoring business that needs the back office: a calendar, attendance, invoices, payments and a portal parents can log into.
How it is priced A monthly subscription that scales with the number of active students, with add ons such as the website builder priced separately.
TutorBird is a business system and Slide Practice is not. The overlap is one field: the place in a lesson record where a tutor is meant to write what happened. That field is empty in most tutoring systems on most evenings, and it is the only field a parent actually reads.
02Where Slide Practice wins
Three things Slide Practice does better.
- It fills the one field a parent reads. Everything else in a tutoring system is for the tutor; the lesson report is for the person paying.
- It writes from the lesson recording, so the report is specific rather than reconstructed on Sunday evening from a diary entry.
- It sits beside whatever system you already run, and asks nobody to move their calendar, their invoices or their students.
03Where TutorBird wins
Three things TutorBird does better.
- Invoicing and payments are in the product, along with expenses, mileage and payroll for a multi tutor account, and Slide Practice handles none of that.
- Scheduling and attendance are the spine of it, which is the administrative half of tutoring that Slide Practice leaves exactly where it found it.
- A website builder is included, so a tutor with no site gets one without a second subscription.
04Do not choose Slide Practice if
The cases where this product is the wrong answer.
Do not choose Slide Practice if you need to schedule lessons, take attendance, invoice families or run payroll for a group of tutors. It does none of it and is not going to.
05The short answer
If you only read one paragraph, read this one.
Keep the system that runs the diary and the invoices. The question worth asking is whether the lesson notes inside it are being written, and if they are not, that is the gap Slide Practice fills for a flat price.
